The duck banh mi here was an absolute treat. The bread buns they used for the banh mi were well toasted and held the meat and everything properly without falling apart. One of the better banh mis which I've had.
Passed by this place and was craving a banh mi so I went in for a quick pick up. I got the combo pork banh mi, which came with roast pork, fancy pork, head cheese, pate, onions, pickled carrots, daikon radishes, cilantro, jalapeño and aioli. There were only 1 other table seated when i went in to order, but it still took almost 15 minutes for them to make my 1 banh mi. The banh mi was delicious though, great bread to filling ratio. I had filling from the very first bite, which sometimes with banh mis you get a lot of bread. This banh mi was also smaller compared to other places and it was pretty pricey, with the total coming out to be $12.50.
ordered takeout on their website and picked it up at the store. located on clement street around a lot of other asian restaurants and bakeries. prices are pricey for banh mi in SF but quality was good and they have some unique items like the duck banh mi. // grilled pork banh mi (11.50) // i ordered this banh mi with most of the options on it. i was satisfied with the amount of meat and vegetables in my banh mi. the grilled pork was good and i liked the pickled veggies and sauce. there was a jalapeño that added a kick to it. i appreciate that you can select what you want inside and there's an option to get two halves individually wrapped which is nice. id come back if i was in the area. definitely have had much cheaper banh mi in SF but this one tasted good!
SO incredible. I went to this place based off a recommendation from a friend and it blew me away. I meant to save half of my chicken sandwich for dinner but it was so good I ate all of it. The bread was toasted just right, the chicken was crispy, and overall, the experience was wonderful. The place is cash only, but there is an ATM just a block away to make it super easy!
Loved the crunchy duck bun mi... everyone ordered the crunchy chicken bun min when I went. I will try next time! Loads of flavor, crunch, and great size. Also convenient hours! Open early.
